Hood is really stuck - now what?

So I have the double whammy of a loose cable and the emergency release at the front doesn't work either.

The release is stuck open so I'm guessing rusted - sprayed with WD40 to no avail.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

That means what? Remove it, break it off, stab it with a rusty knife?

      And then what?

Get a nice durable flat head and place it flat AROUND the emergency release and hammer away, do it around the release and the rust should break free

once the grill is broken off, undo the 2 10mm head bolts that hold the latch in place.

Why not just disconnect the driveshaft and drop the engine and front subframe? You could also spray your engine bay with truck bed liner while you're in there as an added bonus.
