Just picked up this weekend, tell me what you think!

So i finally found a local e30 with some real promise. A friend of the family had this 87 325e 210k in a garage since 2005 after the clutch began slipping. 6 years later, i show up. Using two sets of jumper cables and a battery charger, we brought her back to life after quite a hiatus. I filled up the tires and drove it on that old gas with a mix of dry about 15miles home on about 4 cylinder.

So needless to say i had some work to do, so the next day i picked up and installed new thermostat, spark plugs, wires, bosch cap, air filter, and drained and replaced all fluids except tranny.(which is being dropped tonight) Now all 6 are firing like its 1988. btw oven cleaner works wonders on dirty engine bays

Next move is ansa exhaust, new rotors, clutch, chip, and some fuddling with the cluster which the tach and temp guage are not working.
Ive been looking for one of these for what seems like 3 years and after the tune-up i couldn't be happier... oh and i got it for 1k, owner had original bill of sale from 88 haha! plus all work completed since

If anyone has knowledge on these clusters please let me know, i am aware there's a bad ground wire but any info on where to begin would be great. Happy motoring

Amazing, I loved bringing back my old, unloved E30 back to life from its previous owner and this reminds me of when I first bought my car haha. Awesome story man, keep it up.

Can't see pictures because I don't have a flickr account, but sounds good.

Make sure you do that timing belt though.

Thanks for the welcome and input, I'll definitely check the fuses.

I dumped some premium in her today.(i won't comment on gas prices) but she sounded incredible. Upon a further, more thorough inspection, I realized buckethead previous owner installed a chevy cavalier muffler... Good thing I ordered the ANSA today!

sorry for the lack of any recent updates, work has been very busy and work on the car the same.. i re-installed the starter after completing the new clutch installation aaaand nothing. So i pulled it out and hotwired it with jumper cables.. nada. purchased a new one, oh you dont say, it stays in the on position at all times when hooked up to the battery. Starter three was the winner.(thank you bosch)
Next the exhaust came in and my mechanic pal and I had everything clamped with an impact drill and my friend, who was under the car, asked me to push down on the muffler to get clearance to the mount. I applied a little pressure and the muffler slid off and hit my bud in the mouth, breaking a front tooth in half and loosening the other. he was not happy.
I told him that's what happens when an Irish guy and a Polish guy try to put an Italian exhaust on a German car.

New pads, rotors, and tires were installed, and since our first round of battle with ANSA didn't go as planned, I took the car to my buddy at the local monroe shop and he welded that sucker on for 20$

So yesterday i took her out on the maiden voyage and its a completely different machine. She was this anemic, dust covered, neglected diamond in the rough, and now she has so much torque back, and a new lease on life.

next to come is the new control arm, emergency break shoe and cable (installed one, need new backplate on drivers side), 6x9s in the rear, all new belts.. already got timing completed. shifter boot is looking pretty hagred too.
