IDK wtf to call this thread?! (some kind of power problem)

alright im to the point where im completely lost...

    heres the situation.
some times my car runs great and others like complete shit...

earlier today (after rain) i was getting on the interstate and i stomped on it and it fell on its face and the speedo quit working. shifted to 4th still no power go to 5th and it had power but not much.
then once the speedo was working again it seemed to have plenty of power.

so does the speedo have anything to do with ignition timing?
or could this just be an air leak of some kind?

    alright car mods are...
M52 OBDI swapped (all new sensors) and most of the normal shit for a swap.

so i cant seem to figure out if this is an air leak or if the ignition timing is getting retarted for some reason ORRRRR if its a "random" as hell miss.

    any ideas?

    thanks

sounds like an electrical issue or possibly MAF related. Regardless of whether you bought all new sensors, some "new" sensors can be defective right off the shelf so I wouldn't rule them out completely. I used to see it all the time when I was still in a shop. Also check your plugs. See if any cylinders are washing out or running lean. Do you have a wideband hooked up?

no i dont have a wideband. this problem never happend B4 when the motor was in my red E30 and i used all those sensors over (they hadf maybe 5k on them) so im starting to lean towards a BIG air leak somewhere.

I highly doubt it's just a big air leak if your speedometer stopped working at the exact same time. Was it just the speedo or did anything else on the gauge cluster stop working? Did anything get changed on the harness or ECU when you swapped the motor?

the speedo has always done that but im thinking it was just a fluke that it happend at the same time. i used the same ECU the same harness etc etc:

i also noticed my brake booster leaks a shit load of air so im swappin those out with another on i have. and i think i also have a leak at the ICV

but i still dont think that would completely cause it.
