Hello all to the E30 community, Im about to explain to you how one phone call ruined my day.
So I hop in my E30 wagon thats ALWAYS parked next to my E30 coupe and go to work just like a normal person, im already drained from working 12-14 hours a day so Im physically exhausted. Im just minding my own business doing my job when I get a text, it was my buddy who is also into E30's, and his text read, "Did you scrap your E30??!!!". Im not technically suppose to have a phone where I work so I responded whenever I could get the time. I told him no and asked him why. He quickly texts me back saying my car was in a junkyard near by and starts listing all the stuff in my trunk that I had in there and tells me that my window is busted out. Immediately my heart sunk and my adrenaline starts to rise. He also stated that he saw the junkyard moving my car with a forklift, need I remind you this is a 24 year old chrome bumper in almost MINT condition. So I go to my shift lead and ask him if I can go solve this issue, with me being military and over sea's its hard to do anything by myself so I contacted my 1st Sgt. He was very cool with me and said I didnt do anything wrong so he quickly calls the Security Forces, they say they didn't know it was towed. So he makes a few more phone calls and is doing exactly what I want him to do. After that I went back to the site where they loaded my car and started to take pictures of all the marks left on the ground and all the glass particles.
So with all that being said here's the reason why they thought it should be towed. In the country of England you have to pay road tax for driving on the roads, you can either pay for six months or one year. My car had its annual inspection, also known as MOT , which is required to get road tax. If your road tax runs out then you have to get proper documentation to prove that you wont be driving it and place it in your windshield. Well a couple of months ago I bought my old E30 wagon back and decided to park the coupe due to gas prices and let the tax run out on it. I sent off all the paper work to the DVLA and was waiting for my documentation to arrive so I could do just that. But since it I haven't received it yet then I had no way to prove that I wasn't driving it.
Now that all of that was said I cant do anything until tuesday because mostly everything will be closed tomorrow for "the royal wedding". Here is my car that got towed off.

So if I still have your attention span then here's a story onto why this upsets me this much. I waited over one year to find this exact car, it was everything I wanted and this is why. Back in the states I was building a car for auto/x and a fun toy. It was a lapisblau E30 that I lowered, M50 swapped, put BBS body parts on it and recaro sport interior. Well when I was at basic training our shop caught on fire and my car was next to it so that car was a complete lost. So whenever I got to England I told myself I would get another E30 in lapisblau. So thats the story. Here's the pictures to my last car.

So needless to say I hope that I can get it back. If not then I will give up on lapisblau e30's as I have no luck with them.
