    Convertible top repair

I browsed through each of the threads in the faq subforum, and didn't find what I need.

I recently bought another e30. It's a late model cabrio. It is a power top, but it is not working. The rear cover part does not lift in order to let the top down. Is there any diy thread regarding repairing the top mechanical parts?
Also, is there any diy for replacing the actual soft top?

I'm a noob when it comes to 'verts, so any advice is appreciated.

Its all ment to automatic. The motor in the center (im my pic) is the one that powers the tonneau cover. If the motor is making noise then the little arm that raises the lid itself has broken off the bracket.

And if you didnt know about this site...

I have often thought that we should have a convertible sub forum or a cabrio question sticky.
