    Air flow sensor trouble

Took off the air flow unit and sprayed it out with carb cleaner. Also took off the plastic plate that the wires connect to on the inside. Put it back together and she won't start. Tries to, but won't. I suspect a wire problem inside the housing. Can the top plastic cover be taken off. It looks to be adhesived on. Or what else would be the problem.?
