So, this afternoon I decided to finally replace my broken sunroof cables. Bought the car with them broken, and figured no big, just swap 'em in and done.
WRONG!
The first hint should have been the sunshade in the car. I was thinking it HAD a glass roof at one point, but dismissed the idea and figured the PO had made a shade to cover the ugly wood being used to shim up the roof.
I take the old cables out, and install the new ones, well, kinda. The top plate that holds the cable in it's channel (#7) won't allow the arm on #11 to go down.
WTF? I know from putting a glass roof in my e28 that you must trim this arm to make the roof fit properly.
My question, do any of you have pics of a OEM glass roof out? Specifically the areas around which the cable/sliding mechanism runs, like in the pic above.
