    Vert Convertible Rear Window

Has anyone tinted their rear window for a vert? I was thinking on tinting it with transparent black paint. Any advice?

in reality, it likely won't stick well. after you fold the top down, it will probably flake off. then it would look really really bad. if you want to tint, i suggest a hard top for your cabrio. maybe you can get a tinted piece of vinyl sewn in.

I would like a hardtop but damn hardtops are hard to come across. And if you do find one they are prettty expensive

You can buy an aftermarket tinted replacement plastic window from emiata.com

Do you have a zip in or a sewn in window? My top cracked right down the middle the first day i bought my car so i used tail light film just to try and keep it water proof. You could barely see through it, and when winter came it shrunk and ripped the corners stitching out.

I put a new top on it and honestly, after all the work installing it, I wouldn't even try to put anything on it and fuck it up now.

Not really anything you can do to a non-tinted soft top window imo.

try that miata site that guy posted a few posts up or even jeep wranglers have em and boats have them. it's possible, has been done...you may just have to get a bigger window and trim it to fit. if you do post it up, i've wanted to do this for years but never have.

My top is stitched, it wouldve been nice if it was the zip up kind. The thing about it is that the top is new too, it was installed in 09 and I don't want to mess it up. The one from emita is really that much tinted either so it's not even worth the work. But I've seen the Jeep ones too and those work perfect for plastic Windows but I don't know if it's ok on windows that fold. I guess I'ma be one of the first to try one of those things.

ask around on some jeep forums...it's free. or just call around to some boat shops and ask them. no reason to spend money if its possible youre just gonna throw it away.

I don't see how anything you put on there wouldn't get messed up when it gets folded so tightly.
