    Urethane subframe bushes?

    Hey all,

I'm in the process of rebuilding my rear suspension and trying to decide if i should use urethane subframe bushes or just standards. What are your thoughts and opinions?

    cheers.

I've noticed that there are several types of urethane brands/types etc. Whats the best?

powefrlex tend to be the most popular. Search for apytp's thread in the suspension section.

I used the Green ones fron Ireland engineering. ( www.bmw2002.com )

Felt a huge difference in the suspension, but then again, my stock ones were really worn.

prepare to be very frustrated in the removal of your old bushings though. If you know anybody at the dealer maybe they can loan you the pulling tool. Ive used that and Ive also used the sawzall/torch/air hammer/BFH approach. tool is much nicer

I've used AKG stuff on my past two cars and I'll be using AKG again for the current car.

I personally think it's the best stuff, but that's my humble opinion.

I just did stock on mine last week.

I already had IE Urethane TABs, have put maybe 6,000 miles on them.

It was a HUGE difference, but I cannot imagine being willing to add any more NVH at all for a DD type. If it is going to see regular track use, do urethane.

urethane from IE. I DD mine when it's working and I love the way it feels.
