    I really like the way the Z3 rack with powersteering feels. It's still assisted, but the weight is pretty damn respectable, and you can easily feel the grip level. I <3s it.

                    Can you run these with out power steering? (I'm a steering rack noob) Or would I have to return my car to power steering?
                    I currently do not have powersteering, as It didn't work and the PO removed the belt to temporarily "fix it", once I purchased the car I installed one of Silence's power steering block offs.

                      It will significantly increase steering effort over the stock rack; I would run it with power steering if I could.

                          were there different racks for the Z3s since they had different motors, or is there just one?

                            There were different racks. The 96 M44 1.9l Z3 has the 2.7T rack, as far as I know.
