Wife's New Ride (Non e30 Content)

Yep, it's a Kia. We tow the BMW company line pretty hard but there was just no beating this car for the money you pay. We picked it up last Wednesday with 6 miles on it... it now has 760. Took it to Houston for the weekend. Was kind of cool filling up Friday, driving it to Houston, around town all weekend, then back on a single tank. I filled it up yesterday before work.

The suspension is actually pretty damn good... not BMW quality but we didn't buy it to be that kind of car. FWD is kinda meh, but again didn't drive it for anything spirited really. Passing is plenty easy with the 275hp. All in all a great car with some super cool features... and the best part is I NEVER have to work on it. ;)

I have gotten stuck with a couple at rental agencies, and I was pleasantly surprised. I must say. What was the final line on that one before financing if I may?

Thanks, and I agree. We did A LOT of research on this car and Kia to ensure that they weren't the old buckets they used to be. It was very hard to move away from BMW, but to get a comparably equipped 3 series, even 328, would be upwards of $40,000.

Because of demand they tried to stick us with sticker price of just over $31,000. We said we'd wait a month or two got in our car and as we were pulling out the salesman came running out and offered $500 over invoice. That was like $29650. We said ok, but then we mentioned Kia's competitive bonus and if you own a 3 series BMW (lol we have 4) you get another $500 off. So before financing we were at $29,150. It's a lot of car and warranty for that price.

As a side note, we had to buy the car a week before it got to the dealership. We had driven one elsewhere (in the wrong color), but to ensure we got this one we put our downpayment and hammered out final price before it hit the lot. Good thing too because I overheard another couple there who said they saw it in the lot and wanted to buy it instead of the black one in the showroom.

My god cars are becomming so expensive.... who would have thought of a kia costing 30 large..... My wifes e90 is about to hit 60k miles so we are in the market and their is nothing new under $25k. Kia and Hyundai are both looking very appealing as they have really improved their products.

Congrats on the car and best of luck with it.

How is the rear vision? Looks like a big c pillar.

wow, that car has stolen all kinds of styling from all over the world.
looks like a decent car for the money, over here they don't sell any larger KIA cars.

Glad to see such positive feedback. I never thought I would own a Kia myself, but when we started hearing about this car I had to start looking into it.

Nope doesn't matter from a handling standpoint... but you can feel the difference, even in everyday driving. It's the feel that I love about RWD as I rarely do anything too sporting with the cars.

I would consider it for my wife. Especially if we ever have kids. I can only keep fixing my 94 honda accord for so long lol.

Give us a review after 30k miles. Im not being a dick, I really want to hear from someone and not a magazine abouts its longevity.
