aren't you required to brace the heck out of the upper rear strut mount to run these?

Hopefully this will be the last time I have to post this. I'm not comparing kits within categories, do your own research. This list is by no means comprehensive and exhaustive, just my own experience and research.

Good brands for all-out RACING. Cost: $3-4000+
                Moton
                JRZ
                AST
                Ground Control
                TC Kline
                TEIN
                KW

You would not be asking about BC racing shocks if you were actually racing, but the shocks in this category are the best. These are not Fuh Raze coilovers.

Good coilover brands if ultimate performance AND ride quality is your goal. Cost: $1500-$5000
                Ground Control
                TC Kline
                AST
                KW
                Moton Street Sport/Clubsport
                JRZ RS/RS Pro
Bilstein PSS9 with linear spring conversion
                TRM, maybe. Not enough data.
                TEIN, some models

Choose this category if you autocross, track, or want a well designed suspension that handles amazingly well on track that will also be perfectly streetable. Notice how the best suspension brands for street cars also make the best suspensions for racing? Not a coincidence. These are also not Fuh Raze coilovers.

Coilovers if you place more emphasis on ride than on ultimate performance. Cost: $800-$2000

                Bilstein PSS/PSS9 (original)
                Suspension Techniques
                H&R
                TEIN, some models

Choose this category if you don't track a whole lot but you still want higher performance than stock or springs/shock packages and adjustable ride height. Damping is not always adjustable. These are for comfy sporty DD use, and they are very good at that.

Coilovers if ride is unimportant and performance is unimportant--LOOKS are most important. Cost: $free to $1200
                Stance
                BC Racing
                D2
                K-sport
                Megan Racing
                DDM

The above category has different inconsistent valving side to side and front to rear. These are JUNK for performance. Actually, they're really just junk. You can run them super duper mad jdm tyte y0 low though. These ARE Fuh Raze coilovers.

                    thats guys.

I know that you have to brace the rear turret for coilover use, dont worry about that

ill be using my car for street and drift mainly i wont be putting in enough track time to warrent the prices we have to pay in the u.k for the likes of bilistien etc

                    my choices are

                    Gaz height adjustable only

                    Gaz golds (depending on price)

                    Spax rsx

                    BC Br's

anything else is to expensive realy. i want as much adjustability as possible realy so i can set the car up nicely

So you want adjustability for car setup purposes but are not willing to spend money to get worthwhile adjustments? Not smart.

just an FYI, you can't run a rear coilover shock in an E30 without significant shock tower bracing and strengthening. Otherwise they will fail, and quite expensively.

More info on coilovers to back mine up, just more Subaru related:

Skip the springs part, and go to the coilovers section. The breakdown he gives is pretty spot on.
