Well, as the title states, I am in need of doing a wheel bearing job on the rears along with some other work. I'm weighing my options right now, and after last weekend I am considering a shop do the work. I ended up shattering a 30mm socket, snapping a 1/2" breaker bar, and burned up an electric impact socket. I CAN'T get the axle nuts off. Literally, even if my life depended on it, I couldn't get them off. A local guy named Reggie who is excellent with e30's can do it and I would love to pay him for it. Only problem is I've done all the work on my car up to this point(aside from some machine work) and would like to keep the ball rolling. Nothing against his work, as he's the only shop I'd really want doing heavy maintenance on my car, but I want to do this. If it comes down to it, I will take it to him for sure.
What needs done: Axles removed, old bearings pulled, new bearings installed, subframe dropped, RSF bushings installed, Trailing arm bushings installed.
What I'm offering: $300 cash, beer, food, and my assistance through the entire process. I have PLENTY of hand tools for the job. Basically, I can provide any tool needed for the job MINUS a wheel bearing puller kit, air compressor, and air tools. I have craftsman 1/2" & 3/8" air impacts, but they're not very powerful.
Obviously, I will provide all the parts that I need assistance with. I know how to do the job. I just don't have the proper and/or big enough power tools to finish it.
I know it's a long shot, and I'll probably end up at the shop, but it was worth a try.
