I've put it off for a while....
The right side motor mount 'tab' on the subframe cracked and dropped the engine a bit. I've since welded it and replaced the motor mount with solid rubber mounts.
However, when it dropped, it rubbed the A/C hose (from the Compressor forward to the condenser) and broke it...just past where the metal fittings are.
The remaining hose is a bit too small to put some kind of a splice in it (too close to the metal fittings).
When I use Real OEM for the parts diagram...the part number comes up as the 'condenser to receiver dryer' on most websites.
So...
I need the proper part number to look for a replacement ('91 318is) for the compressor to condenser hose.
Then....
The allen head bolt holding the fitting to the top of the compressor is somewhat soft....and is starting to round out when I turn it. For now, I'm soaking in PB blaster. And....the hoses come off the 'wrong' side of the compressor (the hose I need comes off closest to the firewall, then under the other hose to go forward)...so I need to get both off to really access the screws.
Any ideas?
It's 95 degrees here today....would have been nice to have AC in the car on the hour drive back from where I was working this morning.
Thanks!
