88 325I does not start after sitting since 1995. Help me troubleshoot

88 325I is been sitting since 1995. Tried to put new battery did not start. So I open air intake (after air filter) and my buddy put little gas in there while I turn it on and car stated till got gas from air intake (but RPM was not moving).
I am thinking Engine is not getting gas or gas is bad. I am planning to follow these steps.
    1) Remove all gas from tank by taking out line near fuel filter.
    2) Check fuel filter
    3) check fuel pump
    4) check fuel injector

My question is there a way to check fuel filter and fuel pump? My guess would be to take out line after fuel filter and turn on the car or jump fuel pump to see if fuel is coming out.
Question How do you jump fuel pump? I know its fuse # 11.

    Any suggestion/comments?

If it has been sitting that long you should do the following:

Change the timing belt - if it hasn't been run since 95 the belt has been in the same position and will most likely snap when running and ruin your day.

Change water pump when you do the belt since you're there anyway.

Drain and replace coolant - you'll do this anyway with the water pump

    Give it an oil change

Change diff and tranny fluid before driving

Drain and replace fuel with premium fuel for first tank.

Probably need to clean or replace fuel injectors.

    Clean and flush fuel lines.

There are pins you can jump where the fuel pump relay goes to test it, but I can't remember which ones off hand.

I'd probably be doing a basic tune up as well.
