Fucking sick. But I love matte/flat/satin black, so it's definitely something I'm in to.

The problem with stain paint is, you wash it wrong and the paint is fucked up. It takes almost nothing to "polish" shiny (uneven) spots into it.

This. Every time you wash it, you're literally wetsanding the texture/satin finish out of the paint.

never had any experience with flat/satin finishes but i do love the way they look. as for the car... not my style. e30 please.

A lot of people that paint their cars flat/matte colors use a flattening agent in the clear coat to prevent the "washing away" of the colors. My uncle has painted quite a few cars like this, and so far I dont think he's had any issues of the paint fading/losing its intended color.

Not a fan of the "I drive an expensive car but I want it to look unfinished" look. It worries me that BMW is following this fad. I liked the old hot rods that had just primer because it was still in the process of being restored. It looks decent on old cars, but having it on brand new expensive high end cars seems extremely silly to me.

Oh yeah!! Yet more bullshittery to this whole fiasco is that you have to sign a paper when you take delivery of it of all the special shit you have to do to keep the paint looking matte.... Where the fuck is peoples common sense and reasoning going??
