I was thinking of replacing my 318is winter beater with this ... what better to have beside my E30 Touring that an E36 Touring. It had the 1.7 Turbo diesel,which actually isn't as much a slug as what I've read. It also gets about 1000km per tank. What's not to like ... having 2 rare Tourings in the driveway??
The car turned out to be a little disapointing ... it had just been imported, but had a lot of rash - the body had tons of dings, touched up rust on the bottom of each door, hatch and quarters. The interior hard panels where also rashed and it was filthy - the interior was cleaned, but there was still this layer of grime on everything.
Either way, it was a little too rough and a little too expensive. I think I'll buy something nice for my 318 tomorrow...
