Is $100 for a valve adjustment from private mechanic including new vc gasket and rocker plugs a good deal? What will a shop charge?

Hard to say about labor, parts are about $20, if your breather hose from the valve cover to the TB is old and hard change it too. It's a 30-40 min. job, most Mec's have a minimum charge. I wouldn't go to someone that doesn't do E30 work alot. Expert eyes might see a problem in the head you should address.Comment

Thanks guys, I had no clue what the going rate was, he has done it before on other members car and they were happy with the results, plus he is driving an hour to meet me. I would do it myself if I knew how to, hopefully I can learn from this guy.
