Yes Sir, back sand beach south of the Westin, if the fish taco lady by the black sand beach is there get one, a fisherman told me the house by the entrance fo the black beach was built mostly of teakwood, his buddy got the order, 1.5 mil for the wood. You will see all kinds of $$$$$ cars with Cali plates, they just ship there cars over for the 2-3 month vacation. Maui Revealed, Andrew Doughty & Harriett Friedman go buy this book today!, The parasailing with a parachute to 600 ft, diving, be very carefull if you do the bicyle ride down the mountain, crashes weekly, and the dreaded STINK EYE, thats locals telling you quietly to leave. Marketplace center, cigar shop, $100 Fuente OPUS X in stock, Jammers, coffee beans covered with chocolate, great cause they use good beans. If you go down on the beach by the 4 Seasons little cabana dudes come by, while in your private 2 seat beach cabana, and spray flower sented water on you to cool you off while sunbathing, and offer chocolate covered strawberries, unffortunalty 400-10K a nite.

find a water stream/water fall to trek up to. probably a good idea to avoid swimming in the natural pools though as the signs say. you will likely wind up with the runs for a week. ask me how i know. also, as timR has alluded, might be a good idea to avoid places where only the locals go. unless you happen to look pacific islander, they will treat you like shit. that is the state sport.

i hope you have a great vacation. because of the attitudes eastern european looking bastards like me get there, i pretty much avoid hawaii at all costs.

We go every 5 years and will be there for 8 days in mid July or 3 trip. I will actually have time to play Kapalua this year. Since this is your first time I would suggest these 3 things. Enjoy your trip I have traveled all over the world since I was young and Maui is one of favorite spots, definitely my favorite Hawaiian Island. I am of Chinese and Filipino decent so they always ask me what Island I am from....: ^ )

This special place vibrates with stories of ancient and modern Hawaiian culture and protects the bond between the land and its people. The park also cares for endangered species, some of which exist nowhere else. Come visit this special place - renew your spirit amid stark volcanic landscapes and sub-tropical rain forest with an unforgettable hike through the backcountry.

Hana highway sucks. People get robbed there from crackheads. Go to old Laihaina for the night life and food. Molokini island for snorkeling, Free snorkeling around Kanapali which is 5 minutes away fro Laihaina. Make sure you do zip lining there too.

Haiku/Up country is great. If you rent a Jeep, do the northern & southern loops. Expect to spend most of the day doing each. Also, remember that there is no way to link the two without going back to Kahului.

Hike Sliding Sands if you want to be in another world

My wife and I went in May and had a blast. One restaurant you have to eat at is Lahaina Grill. The best steak I have ever eaten in my life. Carlos Santana walked through the door while were sitting there. Pretty cool part of the island. The road to Hana is a must. Rent a soft top Jeep for the trip. We actually saw a local get the shit beat out him at the double waterfall stop on the way. DO the trip up the volcano at 3am to see the sunrise. You get to bike back down. 30 miles I believe and you only peddle a couple of times. Some people died a few years back and it shut down but now its back up and going.

There is a cove near kanapali that we go to every time we have been to maui, and make sure you bring your own snorkeling gear. You can literally stand 100 feet out in this cove and it has some corral and a very surprising amount of fish, almost makes paying to go diving seem like a waste. And yeah while there are some islanders that arent friendly the majority that I have experienced are very friendly and we used to go every year
