would you trade your late-model 325is (m20) for an e28 m5?

Please kid. I was dogging out 300hp when you were still rolling around in the sandbox.
I dont care about a car as a status symbol, or how much its worth. (which btw theyre not holding theyre value very well) Its the driving experience, no matter how much power it has, it doesent compare to an e30.

Don't know the price but M5 $$$ they thought one here was a joke at 220K for $5000 but sold. M5's getting hard to find, I would trade my E30 vert, 86 E, 88 SETA for it. Want the E30 feel, buy a $800 one.

        Haven't seen a v12 in a e28 yet

          things i like:

          - it's an m car
          - s38 (duh)
          - safer (probably)

          things i don't like:

          - it's not an E30. doesn't have that light, tossable feel
          - E28s have a bit of an old man image imo (although i'm not exactly a young guy myself)
          - big ugly diving board bumpers that can't be tucked (oddly)
          - almost every example i've ever seen has warped, wavy deformities to the outer bumper molding that are just plain fug
          - "natur" interior (ugh!)

i know some of these things can be addressed with $$$, but that's not necessarily $$$ i have or even want to be spending.

i also agree with the poster who commented that m5 or not, these cars haven't exactly been holding their value well. their scarcity doesn't seem to be making much of a difference.

            do it man.
then make that thing classy as fuck.

lower it, tint the window, some rims, and a hot girl to sit shotgun.

            SWAG.

I would buy an e34 m5 over an e28.. US e28 m5's only have 256 hp compared to 310 in the e34, the e34 interior is much better looking/quiter, there is a much better selection of colors, stock wheels are way cooler and it is just a much better looking car IMO

I definitely would. E30's are still everywhere. I never see E28 M5's. I would hang on to that car. Just get another E30.

i would love an e28 m5... but I have something against four doors.. i've only owned one out of 7 cars and I am not in any rush to own another.. It just feels too big. doesn't have the same feel at all.. I've never owned an e28 m5 but I'm not sure i would give up my e30 for one.. it'd have to be real nice.. definitely would love one as a dd..

Some of you guys are going against the m5 for pretty petty reasons. How many of you actually have driven one? It's a fucking awesome car and I would get one in a heartbeat.

i had a nice 83 533 on bilstein hd's but otherwise stock. Once you get those cars sorted they drive very very well. They dont feel the same as E30's but if i were you i would trade. you can find another 325is down the road and fix it up, you wont always be able to find a nice e28, let alone e28 M5.
