    Reverse light wiring question

The PO of my car had disconnected the reverse lights because they were blowing a fuse. Thanks to this forum, I went underneath the car and discovered that the reverse switch wiring was touching the driveshaft, worn, and shorting the fuse. I placed black tape over the wire to repair the worn spot. I saw from other posts that people zip tied the wire out of the way... so it didn't continue to rub on the driveshaft.

I zip tied my reverse wire loosely to the shift rod that extends to the transmission. My question: is that an okay spot to zip tie the wire? I didn't see any other good place to zip tie it to.

    Thanks.

      Simon,

Thanks for your post - you got a perfect picture of the spot (your driveshaft must have been out at the time). Anyway, I did zip tie to the carrier arm and not the selector rod (I should have been clearer in my initial post)... so I guess I am okay. I may add a second zip tie next time I have it up in the air just for insurance. Nice to have reverse lights back.

As an aside, I clicked on your "zen" link and started reading your restoration blog. Wow! I am going to have to read the whole thing later.

      Thanks,

      -Marc
