makng 500 hp for 2k

If you really want to do it right for $2k, you need some welding skills. I would do this... Build your downpipe, turbo manifold & short runner(optional), buy godspeed 3" in/out intercooler, tial wastgate, two cheap-ass blow off valves, Megasquirt, used 60lb injectors, some scrap 3" piping at a machine shop, t-bolt clamps, silicone 'bows, a walbro pump, afpr, and a find a used gt35 or t76 turbo. Try to track down every 24hr Lemons builder you can find. When it comes to building on a budget they know what's up.

Turbo M30, they are dirt cheap. Just slap an MLS, ARP's, big turbo and your good for 500whp and will rape almost anything on the streets. I've eaten modded Z06's and sprayed Vipers in mine.

cheap, reliable, power. Pick two. You probably need double your 2k to do it right, at least. If your buddy blew up two engines in a Mustang he can't drive. They are quite reliable.

well appearently stock M52 internals can handle 22 pounds but im not real sure about that i kno the M52 rods are pretty fucking strong and i could get weisco pistons for pretty cheap through my shop

but im doing some reasearch trying to find other builds that people have done.

i kno 350-425 or so is pretty easy to do

theres a guy making 435 on an S52 at 15 pounds soo 18 should do it ;) lol

That's about all you would get too, lol. Definitely possible though if you do some extreme bargain shopping, but you would need to know exactly which parts to get.

yea i kno american muscle has it for cheap power but not so much reliable. my buddy has blown up his mustang twice since ive been swapped and my M52 just takes the beating i give it EVERY day lol

Easier thing is just swap in an LS1 or 2 and call it a day, They can be had for 800-1000 these days

find friends with spare parts. used MS and wideband, cheap turbo, rebuild with brand parts. tune tune tune.

american muscle has it hands down when it comes to cheap reliable power.
