At the local pull a part yard the other day and spot a set of mint condition leather seats in a 1st gen saab 9-3 and I'm wondering if there's any chance in Hell of getting them into an 84 318i or is this just wishful/foolish thinking?

Take some measurments.
Become familiar with how both seats attach.
Develop/fabricate adapting parts as needed.

Most anything is possible..
