No photos but that is the "Rover" CD43. The color is ever so slightly off the actual BMW CD43.

Here is one, the regular CD43, stupid phone kinda blocks it though. The HU looks great in there, very factory.

I've seen various people wanting these for their e30's. Are they any better than aftermarket headunits or why is it that they want these?

They are cd players that look very close to factory in our cars, they aren't really better per se, but they are a nice modern touch.

I was gonna say, they have the features of a modern radio, but they look like they belong in the car unlike most HU's. It has the orange glow of the factory interior lights.

Not really. No AUX. No USB. No iPod. Nothing. It's a CD player that plays burned CDs or a 'modern unit' from 2002.

Actually you can, you just need that long wire that runs to CD changer to be able to run voice, ipod, and a couple other things. Just went to the yard yesterday to fish that wire out of a 5 series

I know you can... I work for a company that sells kits to do that. The problem is then what do you have? 150-200(or more) on the radio. 90-300 on iPod kit depending on which one you get. Getting the iBus wire.

Spend 250 on a Kenwood eXcelon with a 24 but DAC. Front USB/iPod. Front AUX. Has 4 channel RCAs. Sub. Can add BT, Sat and HD Radio. It has a variable color display.

IMO in an E30 which needs to be re-wired anyways the aftermarket headunit is just a better solution.

Plus it skips a lot, but the feel of it in the car is priceless. I mean it looks better than aftermarket headunits in an e30 for those who like factory looking like me.

that is sound advice, but aftermarket radios just look....so....well....like they flew out some homo's ass! (No offense) pretty much all of them look like a twelve year old girl drank a 2 liter of grape soda and threw up all over the dash.

besides, who actually uses cd's anymore? give me pandora. i'll settle for ipod or satellite if i'm out of signal range. who needs anything else these days? ten years from now, we will be looking at cd players the same way we look at 8 track players today. your kids probably won't even know what they are anyway. if someone like nakimichi would make a head unit with no cd but the features i listed above, i would beat the door down to be the first in line for it.
