My front toyo proxes 195/50/15 are in perfect condition, but I completely depleted the rear tires to the steel and I'm DDing this car rather carefully haha. They're 205/50/15 Proxes (I run 15x7 in the front and 15x8 in the rear), but I want to change over to 195/50/15 Yokohama S Drives (narrower because I'm rubbing crazy on stiff springs and my fenders rolled as much as I can). This will be my first time buying tires so I wanna know what you guys think about running different brands, thanks.

In my experiences in driving crap cars with different tires on each corner or on each axle, it has never really been a problem. I avoided driving it hard though. I didn't want to suddenly discover that I could take right turns hotter than left turns or anything like that. I think you will be fine.

you'll be fine but when you get up to higher speeds the tread will fight against each other going into a turn. it's most prominent with a responsive car. my buddy's rear michelins were shot on his s2000. he put yokohama's on the rear and tried rocking it out. shit was sketchy @ 60+mph. he wasnt even driving hard and the car felt like it had too much toe out up front when he would turn.. made it feel so unpredictable. I doubt you'll notice on your car though. i have different treads on my e30's bottlecaps for when I'm just trying to get around. I can feel it when I drive hard but driving normal it doesn't bother me. I have a z3 rack as well.
