It always depends on if you know what the hell you're doing or not.

If you are asking this here before doing any research on your own, I'd say a few years.

just buy an ls3 kit and a pound of PCP mixed with crack. it'll be over before you know it! only downside is you'll be hooked on some bad shit. shit you could probably lift the ls3 in with your arms on pcp.. hahhahahaha

Then after completing the swap, sell it for more pcp.

It all depends on how much you can you do your self. personaly Id skip the ls1 and go LS3

My plan is to do a alloy blocked vortec 5.3 LM7 instead of a ls1.
They have a lot of potential with a cam swap around a 90+ horsepower increase and they should be cheaper too. and a lower milage onw would be easier to find it would be less beat on as well.

same heads and stuff a little smaller vales. 1.98s but its basicaly the ame thing they came in 2005-2007 4x4 trucks. and the pan should be a front sump to start.

I think the brake set up is the most complicated but im just gonna ditch the booster and see what happens

exactly! so someone on r3v can take advantage of your drug addiction to obtain a very fast e30 for very little cash. of course they would have to redo the wire job tho.... pcp and crack wire job, i can imagine.
