    16x7s 40mm offset on e30

Would 16x7 wheels with a 40mm offset fit an e30? If not, is there any way to work with the tire size to avoid using spacers?

they wont fit, you will need at least a 8mm spacer

thanks, just trying to confirm. I was thinking of buying a set of wheels from someone who had them on his e30 and he claims that they fit with no problem.

what kind of wheels. The issue is that they would rub on the front brake calipers or strut housing. they might fit the rear. over all a 16x7 with 40 offset would look funny too.

they're ALT 159s, he had a picture of them mounted on his car and they seemed normal. He's not sure of the offset but i just got the number from someone's post online. I even called the folks at ALT but they said they didn't know because it was an old model....which i thought was kind of weird.

how much are you paying for them? personly i would go with a diffrent wheel. they look like a high offset wheel and would look funny on a e30

yeah i would pass on them and find some more suitable wheels for a e30. You can get pretty lucky on nice wheels

thanks for the advice, i know they're pretty inexpensive and were gonna be a temporary set but i was just concerned about safety and fitment

What made you decide that those first two sets will fit? Neither one lists the offset.

if you're not opposed to running spacers or studs, those wheels are a good size to fine tune a good setup. They are multilug though, which I've never been a fan of running. it makes the center of the wheel look like a cluster fuck. They only way I could see them looking decent is with 205-55-16's and 10mm spacer front and 20mm spacer in the rear. you'd probably need to roll your fenders and would need extended lugs or wheel studs.
