Hey guys, my little bro is looking at getting a really clean '86 golf. I was hoping you could point me to a good forum for info on those? I know vwvortex or whatnot but I'm retarded and can't figure it out haha. That my best bet?

vwvortex for sure, just have to weed through the retards like any other forum, I feel like the builds on there are far superior and more detailed then most other vw forums as well. I used it for the two vws i had and always found details on whatever i wanted to do and also find loads of inspiration. Look up the stance threads and inspiration threads. Remember search is your best friend.

For mk2's vwvortex is the best out there. They've declined a bit over the last year or so and the site is mostly full of retards. Thats partially why I'm here now.

There is still a lot of good info on there.

The OP is from California and is asking for VW specific forums, why post a regional european forum from Texas?


The vortex www.vwvortex.com is the go to place for info on watercooled VWs and has decent regional forums for your area that can direct you to local meets in you area.

Oh i should have added vwvortex basically has been reset. They went through a forum change and basically deleted all of the older posts and build threads.

All the old threads are still there as far as I can tell. I think all the old links to those threads no longer work though.

The older stuff is still there, but the links have changed. You have to search for it now and save the new links.
