Yes, bleaching your seat belts will greatly impact their ability to restrain you in an accident. But please, dont let that stop you.

Evo E30 m3s did have red belts, but those belts you have pictured are actually a limited run of e34 m5 seat belts.

If you dilute the bleach with water and soak it for a short period of time you wont lose any structural integrity of the seat belt. Do it

Not really, dye doesn't work like that. You can't go from a darker color to a lighter one.

Don't use any form of bleaching, it will actually degrade the material and weaken it, like Curt said. I remember I bleached a pair of shoelaces once in high school, and they were shredded in less than a week.

If you really want to do this (I have for years), you'll either need to source the real belts, or you might be able to find a place that sells red seat belt material (there are places out there), and have some kind of shop dismantle and re-wind your belts using the red material. You might be able to do it yourself, I've never tried. Get a spare set and give it a shot!

Probably better off sending all your seatbelt hardware to a rebuilder to put in the webbing color that you want. But this is R3V, so a gallon of Clorox and a pint of Rit should work just as well.

Nice find! I'm actually going to start checking around tomorrow and find out about shops that might be able to dismantle and re-wind them. I've wanted to do this for years.

Shouldn't be that hard to do it yourself.
It only depends on how it's held to the sprung barrel. If you can unwind the old webbing, hold the barrel in place, and put in the new webbing. It will retract and you'll be done.

Edit. I have some seat belts downstairs. I'll go grab one and takes a gander myself. I'm curious
