I have a VIN number of a part. Now how do i know the exact color of it?

Hey guys im interested in buying a fender for my 1990 325i convertible. the car is Alpine II but we dont know if the fender is Alpine II or I. we are located very far apart so i can not view the fender next to me car. i do however have the vin. so how do i figure it out?

Nevermind i figured it out. i just have to call the dealer and have them look up the vin. then they have all te color codes.
