Fuck California, I am trying to move the hell out of there "yesterday". Note, I've been on an extended stay-cation at James' for about a month, but I'd much rather live up in the PNW than down there.

Yep... I would rather deal with SMOG/BAR here than crap weather... I've been to NY, and lived in WI. No fucking way, it would suck being into cars there and just having to deal with crappy roads/dirt/snow/mud and all that.

    No thanks.

Now, if these was a petition to abolish illegals (come fucking here legally like many others have for fucks sake) ?

I love Dallas, no better place to be when the revolution happens!

we all carry/have guns, we're just as rude and obnoxious as those californians...but we'll settle it in a fight and beers later, there aren't as many Prius drivers here and so forth! =)

ps- i also like visiting cali and would rather live there if the stupid yuppie shit would disappear.

Before I read this whole thread and get really pissed at people dogging my home state, I will share that I think Cali ruins any fucking awesomeness we may posess by being so anti-car culture and generally anti-free-thought in general. Our legislation is so clearly failing us as a state and common sense is not applied when instituting draconian and clearly revenue-generating laws. The beaurocracy (sp? I know thats not right) in this state is intolerable. And I hate the fact that in the name of being environmentally friendly, they eliminate your choice of whether or not you want to be so, then on top of that they raise the price of whatever it is that is more friendly (of which you no longer have a choice to decide to use) to the environment. Nice, clear, and flagrantly juicing us in the name of "going green". The thing is its so obviously a racket! I cannot stand that what Cali does with their car laws, the nation follows. We didnt get many cars officially imported in the 80's simply because they wouldnt pass smog in Cali, and it was too much trouble to modify it enough to make it pass in one state so they all got hosed. And they couldnt just sell one 49 state car, and 1 Cali car. Basically if it passes here, itll pass anywhere in the world.

On top of the absolutely nonsensical purposes and motivations for making laws here, our gun laws make no sense. Making it harder for law-abiding citizens to get assault rifles and dangerous weapons makes NOT ONE IOTA of difference to the criminals who use these things. In other words, the only people not getting these types of weapons are the people who go through the proper channels, pass backround checks, take classes, etc. The criminals (myself included in my day) never had and never will have a problem acquiring these weapons. We dont do the backround check, we dont show ID, we dont take classes (not officially anyways), we dont fill out any applications. We just know the right person, pay cash, and walk off with our fully-auto uber-assault rifle with a 50 round clip. So in the end, theyre armed to the teeth, but the people who actually go the legal route are shit out of luck and are left to a disadvantage. Its ass-backwards.

The legal/penal system is pathetically constructed to the piont that now a whole prison culture has been developed and the prison population only exponentially expands while not rehabilitating in the least. Which was the entire purpose this prison-as-punishment society was concieved in the 16-1700's by the europeans. By all logical and scientific accounts, the prison system is a resounding failure, is exorbitantly expensive and doesnt go one INCH in preventing crime, as attested to by all imperical data. On top of that all of the people we pay to balance the fucking budget dont do so, run the state economy into the ground, and we get it on the back end too by officers giving out more tickets, taxes being raised, AND services being cut. So we get double fucked.

Im all about my state and city, I will never move. I was born and raised in Los Angeles and I will never leave. BUT that doesnt mean that I cant point out my frustrations with it. Its my home, so I can talk shit about it.

That being said, I love L.A. Its got its negative aspects. The traffic is pull-hair-out-of-head frustrating. But I love the fact that I can drive 30 minutes in one direction and get snow, and 30 in the other and be at the beach. Theres my hometown of Hollywood, Beverly Hills, West L.A., East L.A., Pasadena, Malibu, Hollywood Blvd, Sunset Blvd, Whittier Blvd, the music culture, The Rainbow, The Roxy, The Hollywood Bowl, The Rose Bowl, The Forum, The Greek, The Observatory, The Lakers, Downtown, Dodger Stadium, the food trucks, so many different foods, so many different enclaves and neighborhoods, nationalities and their idiosyncracies are represented in this city. Its a country rolled up into one. To the south theres 2 beautiful counties like Orange and San Diego counties, and to the North I can go to Santa Barbara which is gorgeous or go up to the Bay Area for a vacation and a change in climate, talk shit to Giants fans, and admire other beautiful landmarks. We have beautiful national parks. Our weather is awesome. Every time its sunny and beautiful and I see that Downtown L.A. skyline, my pride and love get renewed.... just like I did proofreading this post.
