Thats curious, from what i've heard the X series are in South Carolina, the Z's have some development/manufacturing in Cali, there ARE 3 series made in München, and also South Africa and now a huge plant opens in China. It really does depend on which market they are catering to though. American Market, is it really all that surprising one would take on Mexico?

I think used to be made there, as well as the z3, and maybee even some e36's. However with the success of the x5 now the plant only produces the x series car/trucks or sav's as bmw likes to call them

Theres an 40% chance the sheet metal on your car was stamped at GESTAMP which is a mexican based stamping company for the world (your other options would be Magna or Bentler.) Also there is a 85% chance it was hot stamped trimmed on the machines my company makes.
