CD player and ipod were swiped. This after getting a speeding ticket, my first in 4 years, a parking ticket, first in 2 years and then this all in a week. And I'm moving in a few weeks and am low on cash. Not fun.

Grrr, I had my valentine one stolen last year, I wanted to drive around with a shotgun and confront every shady character I could find. Amazingly, the police recovered it in a drug deal a couple months later.

I had problems before when I lived on OSU campus with this crap. Moved in with my gf in a quiet neighborhood...however somewhat surrounded by low income ghetto areas but have never had a problem till this. Pretty bummed, although I am moving to a much nicer area in a few weeks so hopefully this won't follow me.

I feel your pain, but why in the hell did you leave your ipod in the car? They probably saw it and busted the window out to steal it. Then just took the stereo while they were at it.

Best thing you can do to prevent theft is to not give them something to steal. The only thing I leave in my car is a CD book full of burned CD's.

Lapse of judgement and I suppose I got a bit to comfortable with the area. It was actually in my ashtray and had the USB cable run through the dash and then just popped it into the tray. They must have spotted it and swiped it. Pretty bummed but atleast it's the door window and not the quarter glass.

The shitty thing about replacing the E30 doorglass is the fact that you can't roll the window down until the glue cures, BMW just had to make it more difficult for everyone.

Ahh good hint. Is this easily done myself or am I going to have to pay someone? Was hoping to get a junkyard window and just replace it myself. Like I said, pretty low right on funds with having to move.

You can do it yourself, just make sure to get the glass glued "centered" so that when you roll it up all the way up and down it doesn't go off the edge of the track. Kinda hard to explain until you see it.

Once it's in place, roll it all the way up, and tape it to the door frame. Put a small piece of tape over your window switch so you don't forget and roll it down by accident, lol.

Hard? no. time consuming, can be. GL
