    How do you go about checking the idle control valve in an 318is?
    All just means to an end.

    Taking it off and cleaning it with the aerosol cleaning solvent of choice.

    Also, try the m42 forum.

        It's between the back of the head and the firewall. If you look back there you can see where it's upper hose ties into the upper intake manifold. To access it very easily you'll need to remove the upper intake manifold.
