Got my license back today!

Its been one year since one of very few things that brings me true joy was taken away. After what felt like a lifetime of waiting today was the first day I got to drive my e30 since I bought it back in December. I cant wait to put some miles on it so see ya'll on the road.

Congrats! I think about how my life would change if I couldn't drive, and I'm grateful every day that I'm allowed the privilege. Hopefully you learned a lesson from whatever you did to lose it, and realize how luck you are to be back on the road again. I think the US needs to adopt stricter licensing tests; there are far too many idiots on the road and our public transportation network could use an overhaul.

I lost mine twice, many years ago when I was younger. The first time was for one month and the next time was for three. Now I've gotten smarter about where and when I do things that tend to attract the attention the cops. You have to figure out when you can do it and when you can't. Driving everywhere at a hundred isnt a recipe for keeping your license. Oh, I still get the occasional ticket even today but I don't get them in stacks like I use to.

qft, there's a lot to be said for commuting by bike, but I want to choose to commute that way, not be forced to do it.

Very true. Nothing beats a nice cruise after a crappy day at work. I commute somewhat often but not often enough. My boss sold his car a few months ago, been commuting 25miles a day for the last two months. He's been a noticeably better mood regularly too.


Congrats OP on getting your license back. Something like that makes you realize that driving is an incredible privilege that is easily taken away.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys as for the tickets all of them were speeding I got all of them speeding on long straight boring kansas roads. I wont make excuses they were all my fault and after spending all last summer driving on suspended you could say I got what I deserved. But your world changes real quick once your license is gone theres no more cruising, no more traveling, hell you cant even drive to work if you need to get somewhere(past walking,biking distance) you gotta find a ride and that gets old with people real fast. The effects no license have on your life are incredible and needless to say getting my license back for the second time is still one of the best things in life but enough with the sentimental story Im just glad to be driving again, everytime I get behind the wheel now the hair is standing on the back of my neck and I now drive like a grandma to avoid getting caught speeding. In the next few days the e30 is gettin some miles so if any of you live around the wichita area maybe ill see you on yhe road. Things are starting to look up so appreciate your licenses! bitches

harder driving test would be great but government likes money too much, more people pass more money they get. should be able to pay to take a hard test and if you pass you get special driving privileges, don't know what, but that would be cool.
