Building an s5x e30

So its a toss up.

I either want to go with a eurotrash look, something that looks rusted to shit on the outside, and the inside immaculate, with a s5x swap

or a

just a clean swap in a alpine white 2 coupe


any ideas ?

Pretty much all the car guys i know take pride in their cars. And that rusted out and "eurotrash" look makes the owner look like a bum and lazy could care less about the car. Basicly just another eyesore on the road.

it depends on what you want to do. Euro trash cars are like Japanese missile cars in that you can have a lot of fun with the car with out worrying about messing up the paint or getting a scratch. If you planning on doing any kind of serious drifting then i see no reason to have a nice looking car that will just end up getting messed up. I have always at least had an appreciation for all the different aspects of the car scene, so I dont mind cars like rusty, but there are other people who get soo butt hurt over it. It all really comes down to what YOU want to do, you shouldnt really care what anyone else thinks cause you are building the car that appeals to your tastes

Build a clean car, not something that looks like a rusty piece of shit. Why is that such a hard decision?

I have a rusty coupe shell if you want it 300 its yours. It has lots of structural rust for the authentic look underneath when you put the mirrors down at the car shows...

S54 is where its at homie. I've got an s52obd1 and it fast and fun but if I did it over I would save for an s54. Still may one day.

I guess it really depends on ther person I guess.

I have more fun driving the car around, than spending 8 hours polishing wheels and waxing the car. I take pride in the car, and it shows only by how much care I put into assembling suspension, buttoning up the motorbits and taking care of what I can within my budget.

My car is not a looker, it has some rust, but it drives extremely well, and is fun TO ME.

I don't give a shit about what it looks like to other people because thats not what matters, but then again, i'm not going to invest time into MAKING it look like shit.

Putting value in performance more than looks is one thing, nothing wrong with that.

i was saying it in jest a little. I still don't think people have the s54 worked completly out for being in an e30. Still some compromise you have to make to get it running correctly in our cars. Could be wrong but that is the way it seems from the threads I've seen.

BTW the s52 is fun but not going to knock your socks off fast. It has a very usable power curve. With the right gearing its a solid choice for our cars. Wouldn't mind some more power however, and currentlt building another s52 to hopefully turn some heads.
