    Does the oilpan from a 1995 E34 525i (M50?) interchange with an M20?

yes. The e34 is the best one to start an m50 swap with.

The oil pan in question is the one needed to install M50, etc in E30 chassis.

So, can i dump the motor directly from the e34 in question into an E30?

yes, visit the 24v section for the basics.

Is that the one on craigslist that the dude bought for $1300 or something and it's too much work for him? You should buy it and grab the motor, and you might be able to sell some of the other pieces.
