Obviously, I'm new to the bimmer world. I just sold my 98 cobra project car and I'm wanting to hop into an e30 for some refined fun. I found this on the craigslist and was wondering if any of you bimmer veterans could help me to determine if this is a good deal? If not, what should be my low offer and my highest offer? To clear things up, the local market shows these in worse condition and double to triple the miles round 1300-2k.
Good deal? You tell me...

sounds good. also, i did a bit of research on different e30 models, but still I am torn. which one would be better for canyon racing? 325is or the 318is. what's the pros and cons of both?Originally posted by Wh33lhopThis is r3v. Check your vaginal sand at the door.Comment

If it's handling you're after you would be somewhat better off with the 318iS. It's more balanced regarding weight distribution.
In terms of straight line performance: check this movie out ;)

Awesome vid. Kinda looks like the e36 got powned. Anyways, thanks for the hint, I'm not looking for the straight line power, I had my fun with my 11sec. cobra ha...it's time for some twisties. Also, there is a 4dr 318is for sale out here near me bout 10miles down the road. Once again, here is another link cause I have no idea what the are worth and where I should be haggling at with these things.

it looks to be in really good shape i'd say offer him 3k and that's a pretty good deal. plastic bumper swapped late model with under 100k clean paint, 5-speed, sport interior. if the interior is clean definitely pick it up.
all of this is assuming it is rust-free because that is your most major concern.Comment

That things fucking hideous. I wouldn't touch that based on the fact that it looks like you're going to have to do a lot of fixing. Usually when cars look that gross, theres a billion corners that have been cut.Awesome vid. Kinda looks like the e36 got powned.
