looking for a clean idea on how to trim the carpet to fit a rear strut bar

i cut some 3 inch holes in mine and not happy.
just got another set of trunk liners to give it another shot

Make a hole that's only as big as the bar. In the exact spot it needs to be.
Then cut a slit from it, for the ends to slide through, instead of cutting a giant hole.

you have to cut a hole exactly where the bar is and then cut a straight line all the way to the top of the liner, then you can bolt the bar and finally slide the liner from the bottom. thats how i made mine.

I used a dremmel and box knifes so my dials for my struts can be adjusted with no troubles. Pic if needed
