That is dumb. Justin, who is on r3v, runs the parts counter here. He is respectful and knows the computer system very well. You would never need a vin for him to pull something unless it was something off the wall. Plus their computer system is a lot like RealOEM the way it lets you search around with pictures.

We have actually become good friends with the amount time and communication we have had over the last 2 years of my build. Everyone has their bad days and you never know who you are pissing off. Maybe the guy just didn't feel like doing his job that day. Wouldn't be suprised

Why would you even bother calling them, every dealership I've talked to states they only keep parts in stock for last 6 years.

My dealer is alright, but their prices are outrageous. Needed a reverse transmission switch and was quoted $35 and it had to be shipped all the way from the motherland. I sincerely said ok, thanks and went on the pelicanparts for ~$7 and delivered it next day. That place is great.

My muffler is held up/ attached by a giant spring. Worked fine for almost a month or so now, and a day of drifting and crashes. Just a suggestion hahah...

No help just info. I keep my up to date insurance card in my car wallet (with book and tire/ battery receipt). I keep an out dated one for both my cars in my wallet just in case.

Also i have been told by BMW of Medford that they only stock items that they have gotten three hits on in the past year.

we stock almost nothing other than brakes and service filters, we receive shipments twice a day. soa t the longest it comes the next day.
Not sure how the delivery system works over there though.

guess I was kinda harsh in the way I wrote that the other day, but now you know, have the last 7 of your vin ready

35 bucks for that switch is a rip but you do realize your 7 dollar pelican switch isnt the same thing right? The dealer switch is superior in quality
Not saying i wouldnt use one though

and do you think he really cares about the 2 dollars he is going to make off of you wasting 10 min. of his time.
You mad? Its labor day weekend for crissakes!

I have never remembered any of my car's VINs...IMO having to know my own VINs is a little bit OCD

BTW, usually muffler shops have something that will work out for you in place of the donut
