Other tools to carry besides factory?

I like to keep extra tools and fluids in the car. But, I need to narrow down what I carry. Any suggestions on what other tools to carry, like what size sockets and such? I also carry screwdrivers, 3/8" ratchet, pliers, etc.

This is my going out tool roll. Built to go into the woods with my buddies in our trucks. I carry wrenches i've never used because some friends (or people i want to help on the side of the road) don't have euro/jap cars. Also I need to be able to fix damn near everything when im in the middle of no where.

Good ideas. Especially the tool roll. Need to get one. I just picked up a battery tray organizer and it would fit great in there. I currently have the tools in a tool bag and a milk crate for the fluids. Didn't think about vise grips.

Fun fact. A toolbox fits in the battery tray under the hood and can be chocked full of tools.

I have no idea what I carry around. Little bit of this and that. ALWAYS Electrical tape and zipties

8, 10, 13mm gearwrenches. They have gotten much more use than any of the rest of my tools.

I'm an electrician and used to be forced to bring my own tools on the job site before the company I work for started stocking tools for us to use, so I've got a fully stocked tool bag I always carry in the trunks of my cars.

Get a portable socket set from craftsman or husky

Pry bar for said socket set

                  Screw drivers of various sizes/lengths

                  Handy dandy multimeter

A set of metric AND standard wrenches (invest in a ratcheting set, it's worth the monies)

Pliers, side cutters, stakeon's, wire cutters, needle noses.

Electrical tape, friction tape, painters tape, I honestly never use it, but duct tape too.

And of course the misc: wd-40, wire ties, sort section of cooling hose, extra ratchets with extensions, small pipe, a couple feet of 14 gauge wire, etc.

I know I'm forgetting something, but pack all this in a nice tool bag and be ready for pretty much whatever the road throws at you. If not, AAA helps too.

here is the tool wrap i have.
                    http://www.duluthtrading.com/store/p...oll-92099.aspx

Bought one from harbor freight and it lasted about 2 trips into the woods.

Another tool although not a daily carry, more trip oriented is my electric impact. small and handy and it makes taking allot of bolt of quicker.

edit: that tool wrap is like 17 bucks around fathers day and xmas

just curious but how often do you actually get a chance to use this considering it needs a 12-24hr cure time, lol?

Quicksteel. Works much quicker in a pinch. I held a plymouth voyager radiator together with that shit for 350 miles. upper hose endcap pretty much sheared.

Damn, I'm look to carry fewer tools, not more. :D I have mac tools needle nose pliers with built in wire cutters so that should come in handy. Def. need some ratcheting wrenches. I'm not going cross country, just mainly to work. And I ALWAYS carry zip ties. Fix-a-flat? I've got a spare. Which good thing I checked it the other day. I put a set of weaves on my car a few years ago and threw the spare in the trunk. Never did check it. It had a 195/65/14 on it and I'm running 195/60/14. Took it out to put the correct size on it and realized it was A) flat and B) rim was fucked. Very bent. Went to pull a part and picked up a bottle cap for $15. Balanced out fairly well.

hey what are good brand of tools that are inexpensive?
whats good for a socket set?
                              4way screw drivers?
                              wrenches?

i am notorious for stripping bolts and have had my fair share of ratchets break or bend while using them.

                              husky? harbor freight?
whats good quality and wont break my bank?
