Guy in my area selling an m50 vanos from an e34. Comes with an e36 m3 oilpan (doesn't work with the e30 swap correct?) and it does not have the wiring harness... has 70k on it. Thoughts? Is the lack of wiring a bad deal? Doesn't seem like it would be terribly bad to get a harness from a junkyard and switch it over. If anyone has done that before let me know!
M50b25TU for $200?

if it runs OK and is mostly complete, that's a good deal.
You'll need an E30 525i oilpan, dipstick + oil pump pickup as well as the wiring harness and whatever else might be missing, but none of that is too hard to find.
Plan on ~$100 for the harness and $150-200 for the pan. -

He probably pulled it from his E30 and put an s50 in. He kept the oilpan and harness because he needed them and then put the E36 pan on the engine to keep it clean.Comment
