I don't have any problem with you using my logo for a few of your own stickers, but I will if I start to see these on other cars or find out they're being sold.

There are no fumes with powdercoating. All it is is powder sprayed from the gun and electrically attracted to the parts. Hence, all you need is a dust mask. Honestly, you could probably get away without it just fine, but better safe then sorry.

Yeah, I knew I should have been wearing better protection (I started out with nothing until I found out my brother had masks in his truck.) I really should have a respirator. I don't really have an excuse other than I am cheap, young, and stupid. But I should have one before I coat again.

Actually, from what I have read, prolonged exposure to the powder is really not a good thing for you. Its all very finely pulverized plastic and it floats everywhere. The dusk mask only helped a little because it got all behind it and my glasses.

Its also not a good thing to breath the gasses that come off the parts as the powder is baked. Being outside I am ok but anyone doing it inside should be aware and make sure its ventilated.

Correct about the fumes being toxicy. FWIW, you don't want to use the same oven that you use for cooking to cure your powder in.

BTW, what gun/powder are you using?

Yeah we got our oven off CL to be used specifically for coating. It is just next to the grill because thats where the natural gas line was easiest to get to.

The green and silver vein (gun metal color) are the little 1.5oz packs you can get from sears which I will not be buying again even though they came out alright. The chrome, black and clear came from Columbia Coating. I also have some signal yellow and super high gloss white that I didn't use today. I got a half lb of chrome for like $12 and a lb of white, lb or black, and a lb of clear for $30 as part of Columbia's 3 for $30 deal.

The gun is from craftsmen. I got it because I am just testing the waters and I don't have a compressor. It has its on fan built in and was the cheapest new gun I found. I have heard its ok for small jobs but no good for large ones. I will say from today that it works much better when the hopper is completely full. I think I'd waste less powder with a better gun. Probably will go with the Eastwood hot coat gun when I decide to upgrade.

                    lol stir a pot.

Legal standpoint, yeah you could argue to a mediator or a judge that it's 25% different than it's original trademark. But from a realistic point of view, you joined the forum ten minutes ago, stole his design, then were a douche about it.

Its drawn similarly to yours but from a legal stand point, there is enough difference because of the way I did it. I could just had easily gone outside, taken a profile shot of my car and traced it. I made them for my cars and my buddies car. I print duplicates because it is easy to mess them up either weeding them or putting them on. I have no intention of selling them. I mean no disrespect to you, and since I have given you no reason do disrespect me I think the whole internet tough guy thing would be unnecessary.
Internet tough guy? I designed that logo myself for this site, and you copied and changed it. Period. In fact, the ONLY thing you changed was the broken/dashed part of the bottom edge of the window line.

I said nothing rude to you, nothing out of line, and nothing that resembled being an "internet tough guy". I never said the word "legal" or insinuated that I would take any such action. I told you I had no problem with it. I then told you if they were being distributed and/or sold, I would. If you're going to take this kind of an attitude over something as cut and dry as what I said in my initial post, then we're going to have problems.

For the record, it would have been much more prudent and respectful of someone's work if you had attempted to find out who did the artwork and asked their permission, as MANY others have done.

Lets not get all our panties in a bunch. It's just a simple drawing that looks to have taken 15 seconds to make. I'm sure you didn't spend hours on it, devoting your life to it (atleast I hope you didn't).

He said from the get-go that he wasn't distributing them. I don't think anyone would try to pursue legal claims on something like this logo anyway. If you decided to, you'd spend much more in fees than it would even be worth.

Good deal man! If you take a vaccum cleaner and put it through the back side of the box with some kind of difuser, it will collect the extra powder. My buddy built a box on his bench and put peg board on the back side of the box as a difuser and hooked a vacuum to it. He never needed a mask and the shop stayed clean. Just an idea if you start to build something more permanant.
