so I got home from work this morning and found a piece of my clothing outside my 30, that was supposed to be inside my car. I looked at the door and it was shut but not all the way. then I looked at my stereo and the cap was gone. and my ipod was gone..

I ended up finding the cap next to the pedals and noticed that the thief had tried to get the rest of the head unit out but couldn't figure out how to. so they just broke it. and no i cant pay CDs.
I just feel like knowing how to take out a head unit is something covered in Stealing 101.

Do you think my insurance would cover this?

Only if you have comprehensive I believe and your deductible will likely be more than the cost to replace items. However, if you have renters insurance and it was parked at your home it may cover it. Friend of mine got his replaced this way, don't know the specifics of it though.

Consider yourself lucky they didn't smash your window like they did mine.
