I was talking to someone at work today and apparently there was a guy (probably the one on camera) that owns an exotic car dealership in Alberta that brought these cars in for targa as well as a few drivers. So he probably has a lot of money kicking about and got a deal on it anyway.

I just saw more pics on facebook posted by a local photographer that is also into tracking/auto-x/stage rally.

Apparently he was in the class that races the track without times but also without limits (except for relative safety). Car was customized to be a road going FXX.

That's Zahir of ZR Auto in Calgary. His company is pretty well known around here for the cars they keep around, his Edo Evo Enzo is ridiculous. Some people like him, some don't, but regardless of your opinion you've gotta respect the fact that he made all of his money himself rags to riches style.

Thats the guy, Zahir Rana, He owns ZR auto in Calgary. They are an exotic car dealership. There is alot of oil money in Calgary, so there is a pretty good market for exotic cars. He organized an event at an airforce base where you could run your car flat out on the runway, He even raced that enzo against a CF-18.

That Enzo is his personal car. He brought it into his dealership probably 5 years ago and tried to re-sell it. As I remember he wanted over a million for it at the time and there were no takers so he decided to keep it for himself. Sound like he sent the car to germany to have the Edo XX conversion done it.

I have a couple of friends who have run the Targa. Here is a direct quote from one of them: "It was the most dangerous thing I've ever done in my life."

When you enter an event like this, you are already mentally prepared to total the car. You don't run it in a car you aren't prepared to walk away from.

He seems like a wicked cool guy, shows that not all rich people are dicks. He enjoys racing and takes the time to learn how to do it right. So props to him knowing he needs to build experience. Too many people think money makes them the best.

props to him. Very real guy, he knows he can afford to fix/replace the car, and appreciates his health after the accident. Although that car is worth more than my house, in the end it it can be repaired or replaced, whereas a life cannot.

Yeah, the brown guy (driver) is the owner of ZR motorsports in Calgary. They have some sick cars, and do quite a bit of showing off in the community. I don't know...I got a bit of a dick vibe from him when I met him one time.
