    emergency! need help!

    My shifter is literally sinking and hitting something causing a grinding noise! i have to hold up the shifter in order for it not to grind. Violent vibrations from my shredded guibo caused my shifter to sink now I cant go into reverse! Any thoughts or suggestions guys? This is by far the worst experience I've had with my e30

      Sounds like your shifter linkage broke.

              I'd spend a few extra bucks replacing all of the associated bushings while you're in there.

                  Um. Fix your guibo and put your shifter assembly back together.

                          Hope you sorted it out. You could go with a short shifter "while you're in there"

                          Mine did the same after I installed my ss kit, then the drive shaft caught the reverse light cable and boom, no more reverse lights, tee hee.
