                        ever thought about raising the engine? super simple- either get taller motor mounts or just add washers. should help a lot.

                                raise the engine AND get a skid plate. Then you have no worries. (did it to my car) allows you to be as stupid low as you want

                                                    yeah, a skid plate wouldn't have done anything there. A friend of mine was in a similar situation and HAD a skid plate. Skid plate broke and shattered the oil pan.

                                                    FWIW, I think skid plates aren't really worth the money. A proper skid plate requires welding and any force it takes is sent to the frame rails, which is something you don't want to take a lot of impact. The best defense to a broken oil pan is to drive carefully.
