          Early model 3rd brake light. Also, if I recall correctly the door cars on the 1989 model year got rid of the access cap for the window regulators.

          All of the 88 325is models were fully optioned. Mind you this is model year, not build date. The last half of build date 1988 would have been marketed as a 1989 model year car.

          None of this applies to convertibles, by the way.
