I paid $10 for mine from eBay... I feel stupid now, oh well it works great and at first you notice the difference big time and after a wek of driving it seems normal. Awesome mod. -
Told ya, the muscle memory rambling guy is insane. He clearly only owns one car. Now get a short shifter and bam racecarLeave a comment:

Wait if clutch stops are for racecar, but extra bolt and nut equals more weight so not racecar??Leave a comment:

It is called muscle memory, do something enough and your body responds to it time and time again.
Works in everything in your daily life. I use it every time I do a 360 to a stall, or just jumping a guard rail. Even when using your stairs to go to your room while texting. Your body remembers how high and how much lean you need to go up.
The same thing is applied to driving, clutching, shifting etc. Muscle memory is one of the coolest things I enjoy studying.
My favorite is video games, example: You are playing a game and a friend asks how what buttons do what. You have to sit back and try to remember OR go to options to figure it out. Because it is a muscle memory and you just do it.
But the clutch stop is a cool idea and when I started out driving years ago I thought about using one just to have it. Not knocking it to install one, just don't see the point of it.Leave a comment:

yeah, it's nice when you're shifting, no wasted time on the extra clutch pedal movement.
I don't have one on my wifes car, but I don't need to shift fast..Leave a comment:

you know everything don't you.
When I was drag racing my Turbo car, the clutch stop was great, (a seatbelt bolt) you can slam the clutch pedal down, and concentrate on slamming the shifter as
hard as you can in the next gear.- with a 6 puk non sprung heavy as shit pressure plate it is kinda nice.
need it, no, but I still have it in the car and it gives a nice feel to the pedal.Leave a comment:

Bentley manual indicates a distance of ~253 mm or ~10 inches from firewall to driver’s side surface of clutch pedal.
That’s a measurement I never took though..
Basically – it should disengage and engage the clutch – and that’s all I’d worry about.
After reviewing the Bentley – it appears any adjustments are done on the clutch master cylinder pushrod or on eccentric bolt on said pushrod.
As far as the clutch stop ‘mod’ – I like the way the disengage/engage point is near the end of pedal travel (when it hits the stop point).Leave a comment:

1+ Clutch stops are for people that THINK they need something to enhance driving etc. 13 years of clutching has me doing flawless gear changes. So I believe all you need is practice.Leave a comment:

huh?
you buy one bolt for 15 cents
you buy one nut for 5 cents
buy a pack of rubber chair/stool legs for $1.00
where do you have to buy ten?
buy a coarse thread M10 bolt then. done. holy fuck...Leave a comment:

You probabably can...but you'd have to make 10 of them. I only need one.
I found some DIY threads and they all use an SAE bolt 3/8 x 16 x 1.5"
I'm sure it's fine for most people but that is NOT the same as an M10 metric bolt. I'm not willing to take a chance on cross threading.Leave a comment:
