so, if i have a doner car with a map lighted mirror can i take the whole check panel from same car and just swap out my panel w/o having to either tap into a hot line or do a bunch of other shit to hook up the light? i guess what im asking is will the conectors from my 86 eta match up with the panel from the car that donated the mirror and check panel or will i still have to splice?

The check panels will interchange but this has nothing to do with the mirror. -
The map light mirror has a harness that threads down the driver A pillar to a connection in the driver kick panel. The connection in the kick panel is standard on all e30s. The harness (it is just two wires for the mirror) is not standard. It is only installed in cars with the map light mirror option.
The map light mirror DOES NOT connect to the check panel or sunroof.Comment
